French Fashions of the Roaring Twenties

In the 1920s, women’s roles radically changed and so did their fashion including their hat fashions. As they entered the work place, fashion trends became more accessible, masculine, and practical. As ridiculous as they looked, cloche hats became very popular for women because it told everyone that you had short hair.

The image shown was taken about 1925-27. By the end of the 1920's, hats went out of fashion, as women became free to show their hair to the world. The point that they had short hair had been made.
